About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Commercial Director to lead and drive the commercial roadmap aligned with Hegen’s long-term business objectives. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for crafting and executing integrated strategies across sales, marketing, innovation and digital channels to maximize revenue, market share, and profitability across all customer segments and financial portfolio. More than a senior sales leader, this role is a strategic architect where you will play a pivotal role in translating business vision in measurable value.
Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Planning
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform decision-making, implement effective strategies to cope with different demand periods, review and approve pertinent promotional strategies.
- Align company capabilities seamlessly with the unique needs of business partners, identifying area for maximising commercial opportunities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships.
- Oversee partnerships and projects by assessing the return on investment (ROI), timescales, costs, and resources to ensure significant contribution to the commercial value.
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including management, distributors, retailers, and department leads to foster a collaborative working environment.
- Collaborate with marketing to align brand positioning, product launches, and campaigns with commercial goals.
Team Leadership
- Collaborate with the leadership team to uncover valuable insights and formulate strategic approaches for devising and executing commercial strategies that drive the attainment of business objectives.
- Translate high-level strategic insights into actionable tactics for driving business expansion in local and international markets.
- Define and implement go-to-market strategy that guide the business on strategies to engage customers and gain a competitive advantage.
P&L Ownership & Reporting
- Monitor the financial performance of the different business pillars within the local and international partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with the Management and Finance team to develop forecasting and cost control strategies.
- Provide regular reporting and forecasts to the executive leadership team. Own the commercial P&L and ensure margin and profitability targets are met.
Market Analysis and Growth
- Drive consumer insights and category management initiatives
- Regularly review the local, international and partnerships strategies to ensure consistent or exponential growth in different business pillars in the Commercial Department and maintain the organisation’s competitive advantage amidst evolving market dynamics.
- Proactively contribute to organisational growth by enhancing market performance, creating compelling business proposals, leading negotiations, and exploring innovative solutions to achieve optimised commercial outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Marketing, Business and/or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior commercial leadership role with demonstrated track record of driving growth in competitive, fast-paced consumer markets
- Deep knowledge in Trade Marketing, E-Commerce, Local and International Sales
- Possess demonstrated track record of propelling revenue growth and expanding market presence internationally.
- Excellent communication, relationship management and leadership skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and influence buy-ins from stakeholders
- Data-driven mindset with a strong understanding of commercial analytics and forecasting.
- Embraces innovation in product development, marketing, and go-to-market strategies.
